VALGA MILLS TRAIL

VALGA MILLS TRAIL

It offers beautiful views over the valleys of the Acevedo stream, the Tamuxe river and the Río da Cal.
The route starts in the village of Acevedo at 93 metres above sea level and climbs up to 368 metres. This is the most demanding of the three routes due to the steep slopes, but it offers beautiful views over the valleys of the Acevedo stream, the Tamuxe river and the Río da Cal. In the most open areas you can see the mouth of the Miño river, with the Portuguese town of Caminha on the left bank and the Monte de Santa Tegra on the right. Of special interest is the section of the route that goes down the River da Cal, due to its natural beauty and the existence of several old mills.

The Valga Trails are signposted in both directions, so that the routes can be combined in different ways.

The circular route that forms the perimeter of the three routes, allows a 16.1 km route that will take us through forests, brañas and streams. From the depths of the valley to the highest areas, even allowing us to clearly contemplate the mouth of the Miño river in the Atlantic Ocean.
