CANO DOS MOUROS

This is a magnificent example of a fortified settlement, similar in location to others nearby, such as Cabeciña (Mougás). As it has never been excavated, it is scientifically difficult to determine its age. In any case, its type of location and size (around one hectare) suggest an ancient fortress (a little over 2,500 years old), which may have been uninhabited during the Roman occupation, although a reoccupation of the same space in later times cannot be ruled out. times.
It shows a single oval enclosure that could have been occupied in the upper part, which is delimited by a parapet, complemented by a large wall. We know this from the abundant quantity of crushed stone that can be seen on the surface.
