On the border of the municipalities of Tomiño and Oia, in the mountain range of El Argallo, is the Alto da Pedrada, which with its 520 metres of altitude is an excellent natural viewpoint 360º to the whole environment.
The Mirador da Pedrada is also known as the Mirador de A Madanela, as this is where a medieval site of that name was located, which is known to have had a large walled enclosure.
It is also associated with a hermitage that was in this place dedicated to Our Lady of Madanela and in fact a great festival - pilgrimage in her honour is still held here at the end of July.
From any point the views are impressive, being able to see part of the course of the Miño river in its final stretch with the bridge that joins Goián with Vilanova de Cerveira, which acts as a natural border between Spain and Portugal, the Monte Santa Trega, the vineyards of the valley of O Rosal with its grape terraces; the Serra da Grova, that of O Galiñeiro; as well as a good part of the parishes of Loureza, Burgueira, Santa María de Tomiño, Barrantes...
